The green stone specified for pools worldwide

Sukabumi Green Stone is a soft green natural stone quarried in the Sukabumi region of West Java, Indonesia. It is the stone most associated with Indonesian luxury swimming pools: under water its surface reads as a deep, living green that changes with light and depth, which is why resort, villa and spa projects specify it instead of ceramic or glass tile.

Zeolite Factory processes Sukabumi Green Stone in our own workshop in Sukabumi — cutting, sizing, finishing, sorting and export packing under one roof. We supply pool tiles, pool coping, wall cladding and custom-cut pieces in container quantities to importers, distributors, pool builders, contractors and architects worldwide.

Sukabumi Green Stone is known internationally under several names: Green Sukabumi Stone, Sukabumi Stone, Indonesian Green Stone and, in Portuguese and Spanish speaking markets, Pedra Hijau, Pedra Sukabumi and Piedra Verde Sukabumi. They all refer to the same material.

Dry samples read lighter than the installed pool. Always judge colour from a wetted sample.

Pool applications

What a Sukabumi Green Stone pool package includes

A pool is rarely one item. We quote and pack the whole pool together, marked by area, so the installer is not sorting cartons on site.

Waterline tiles
The band most visible to the eye, usually specified in a smaller format such as 100 × 100 or 100 × 200 mm.
Pool wall and floor
Larger formats — 200 × 200, 300 × 300 or 300 × 600 mm — to reduce joint density across the shell.
Steps, benches and beach entry
Cut to the pool drawing, with the tread pieces produced to the required nosing detail.
Coping
Bullnose, half bullnose, square edge with drip groove or a rebated overflow profile, mitred at the corners.
Curved sections
Mesh-mounted mosaic where the geometry is too tight for a rigid tile.
Surround and deck
Bush-hammered or sandblasted stone for the dry area — green stone, andesite or limestone.

Specification

Sizes, thickness and finishes

Appearance

Soft to medium green with subtle tonal movement and fine natural veining. Colour varies naturally between blocks and production batches; underwater the tone deepens noticeably. Buyers requiring tight colour consistency should specify a colour range at order stage so material can be sorted accordingly.

FAQ

Sukabumi Green Stone — questions buyers ask

Is Sukabumi Green Stone suitable for swimming pools?

Yes. It is the application the stone is best known for internationally, and the majority of the material we export is specified for pool waterlines, pool floors, coping and surrounds. Installation should follow the recommendations of your pool contractor and adhesive supplier for natural stone in permanently wet conditions.

Why does the stone look darker under water?

The surface is naturally porous and non-glazed, so once wetted the green tone deepens and the natural movement in the stone becomes more visible. This is the effect most pool designers are specifying it for. We recommend judging colour from a wetted sample rather than a dry one.

What sizes and thicknesses can you produce?

Typical formats are 100 × 100, 100 × 200, 150 × 150, 200 × 200, 300 × 300, 300 × 600 and 600 × 600 mm, generally in 15, 20 or 30 mm thickness. Custom sizes, free lengths and coping profiles are cut to project drawings.

Can you match a sample or a previous shipment?

Natural stone varies between blocks, so an exact match cannot be guaranteed. We can sort to a submitted control sample and agree an acceptable colour range with you before production. Send us your reference sample or photographs and we will confirm what is achievable.

Do you supply technical or test data?

Technical data is available upon request. Test reports and material data are issued per shipment or per project on request.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We are set up for container shipments. Smaller trial quantities and sample orders can be discussed, and mixed containers combining Sukabumi Green Stone with other Indonesian stones are possible.
